QuickTube: Transcript & AI Summary is a browser extension that helps you fetch YouTube transcripts from the page you are viewing, format them, and copy or download them. It can also open a third-party AI website (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude) after copying text to your clipboard.
We do not collect, sell, rent, or trade personal data.
We do not run analytics, ads, cookies, fingerprinting, or tracking technologies inside the extension.
To provide its features, the extension may access:
YouTube page content (transcript text and timestamps) that is available on the YouTube page you open.
Basic video context (optional) such as the video title and URL, only if you enable those formatting options.
Open tabs / tab URLs (for the “open or focus AI site” feature) to locate an existing ChatGPT/Gemini/Claude tab and bring it to the front when you use “Copy + Open”.
This access is used only for this feature and the extension does not transmit this information to the developer or any external server.
The extension may store your settings/preferences (for example: include timestamps, show title/URL, spacing options, paragraph style, preferred AI destination, and whether to add a summary prompt) using Chrome’s extension storage.
The extension does not intentionally store your fetched transcript content in extension storage.
Transcript fetching and formatting are performed locally in your browser.
The extension does not send transcript content to any external server operated by the developer.
